Music 101

I am a classically trained Sting Bass (double bass) player but have also played jazz, rock, blues and many other forms of music on bass guitar. I am also somewhat skilled at piano and clarinet. I have composed in the past, nothing major and I can no longer find the sheet music for them but from Bach to the Beetles if you have a question relating to music (performing and writing) I should be able to help

I can Help in Singing, also! 3 years as a section leader, Schoolwide vocal award, and 2 years as a tutor have to be worth something, right? ^_-

Wow you never really struck me as a Jazz enthusist Ai... If you could learn the Viola too I might have someone to compare note with.

That's actually one of the instruments my mother teaches lol (along with violin). I never really got the hang of the alto clef to be honest with you ^^;;; Tenor clef was hard enough as on a bass it's up one string and up a tone - on a 'cello because that's tuned in 5th's instead of 4th's like a double bass it's simply up one string lol.

I didn't know that you were into that kind of stuff either, Ai. I play the drums. One of my specialties is a nice Jazz and Latin style. ;D

I play the tenor saxophone and the alto saxophone. I like playing all styles and went to a competition once. ^_^ I was one point away from getting into the highest ranking bracket. ONE POINT! T_____T

I began playing the clarinet and then moved onto bass clarinet and baritone saxophone for my high school's marching band. I'm not as much into performing as much as the idea of composing and conducting pieces of music, although I have not had the resources of the "proper" knowledge to do as such; I asked all four years of high school if AP Music Theory was to return and it never did. I've been playing the flute for 13 years now and piccolo for 10, and in my spare time I play with a community band. For some extra income, I also participate in a quintet with a clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and euphonium. We usually perform at parties or weddings, but once, we were hired to accompany an opera singer in her performance.

Also, when I was 16, I tried to take up a third instument. But I was the weirdo, and I became my school's first flute/piccolo/trombone player. It didn't take long to figure out that my lips just didn't have enough meat to play the trombone with a good tone, but I make it a habit to review positions and everything, just in case I need it one day... Besides, I love bass clef so much more than treble clef. ~All Cows Eat Grass~

Right now I'm working on Chopin's Nocturne Opus 32 Number 1 for a small competition.
